Hello there Any plans for New Year’s Eve at Disney world Orlando? Should I purchase a separate ticket? Thanks!

    Hi Camilla! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm excited you are considering a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate New Year's Eve! There is no better place to ring in the new year than at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

As of now, there have not been too many announcements about what to expect for this year's festivities. In years past, the Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT have hosted special fireworks displays on this night. A separate ticket has not been needed previously. Guests just needed to purchase a valid ticket and make a theme park reservation for this date. I would expect ticketing to be handled in the same way for this year's holiday.

    • Magic Kingdom - Last year, the Magic Kingdom held the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks two times on this night. It looks like they will follow suit for this year as well. According to the Walt Disney World website, this special entertainment offering will begin at 6:30 PM and again 10 minutes before midnight. There were also special stage shows in front of Cinderella Castle and a parade during the evening hours. These plans have not been announced yet, but I suggest checking back to the website for any updates.
    • EPCOT - So far, the only scheduled entertainment on this night is a 6:30 PM viewing of Luminous The Symphony of Us. This brand-new nighttime spectacular debuts earlier that month and will be a great start to the night. I would expect the countdown fireworks display to begin just before midnight to ring in the new year. While this show has not been announced, the park is slated to be open until midnight which would suggest some additional happenings. I would also look out for some dance parties and unique offerings in each of the pavilions in the World Showcase throughout the night. Typically, each of the countries will have special activities to celebrate the holiday.
Camilla, I hope this information helps you plan for your visit! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
