Hiya, Erika, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you’ll be sailing aboard the
Disney Magic in just a couple of months. A
5-night Bahamian itinerary is already special, but the fact that your cruise includes stops at both of Disney’s island destinations - Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point - makes it truly unforgettable.
Let’s talk theme nights for this incredible blend of island relaxation and high-seas enchantment. For your August 31 sailing, it looks like your first opportunity to dine in your royal best will be an Optional Dress-Up night on Night 2 after your day in Nassau. This is when not only Guests get gussied up, but even your favorite Disney Characters are dressed to the nines, which makes it the perfect opportunity to snap some keepsake photos too.
But my favorite deck party will take place on Night 3, following your visit to Lighthouse Point:
Pirate Night! Complete with a Caribbean-themed menu, you and your crew will enjoy swashbuckling entertainment and even a fireworks spectacular at sea (assuming the weather cooperates). The rest of your evenings will be Cruise Casual, so feel free to kick back and relax in whatever feels most comfortable.
You also asked about live shows, and the great news is that
no reservations are required! Each evening, the Walt Disney Theatre offers two performances of each Broadway-style show scheduled around the two main dining seatings, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the incredible performances. Just check your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for showtimes. I recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to secure your ideal seat (especially for fan-favorite shows like Tangled: The Musical). That also gives you enough time to shop for snacks at the concession stand, like my favorite, a refillable character popcorn bucket.
I know you’ll have an incredible summer voyage full of island adventures. And if any more questions pop up before your trip, I hope you’ll sail back to us here at
planDisney.
Sea ya real soon!
