At the theme parks, we noticed last year or so, that there was a group of people (restricted access) at a reserved space celebrating birthday with Mickey. Is this available and how can it be scheduled?

Hi Andre!  Groups and individuals can reserve private locations for celebrations such as birthdays throughout the Walt Disney property.  You will often see many wedding receptions scattered throughout the parks and there are areas that can be reserved just for this purpose.  Large companies have even been able to purchase the use of a park for several hours at night but this is a rarity and doesn't happen very often.

We had a large wedding at Walt Disney World for my daughter a few years ago and we had several parties throughout the week in various locations.  We also had a baby shower a couple years later. At all of these events we were able to arrange to have Mickey or other characters appear during the party.  This is at an added expense beyond the location rental and food and drink so it is usually an expensive undertaking.  But of course we all felt it was worth it and had a great time. The characters can usually be booked for a 30 minute block.

You will need to contact Disney Catered Events to get more details about the size and kind of party you are thinking of planning.  The sky is the limit as long as your pocket book is endless too. These parties are not inexpensive but they are truly magical beyond belief!  Their number is 321-939-7278 and you can read more by going to their website, http://www.disneycateredevents.com/.
