Hello if I have theme park through my WDW hotel package can I still enter Epcot or MK if the calendar indicates these theme parks are unavailable on 12/31/24?

    Hello Colleen!

Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy! You are days away from a very magical time at Walt Disney World Resort!

Celebrating New Year's Eve is always fun but celebrating it with Mickey and his friends makes it even more special! Christmas Day and New Year's Eve are one of the busiest Park days in Walt Disney World. If I wanted to buy a single-day park ticket to Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT on December 31, 2024, I would be out of luck as it is currently noted as "unavailable." However, if I were to purchase a multi-day ticket such as what you may have purchased with your Hotel Reservation package I would find the option to start my trip on December 31, 2024, at any Park. Since you bought a package with most likely multi-day date-based tickets you do not need to worry about theme park reservations or the fact that single-day tickets are unavailable. Your presence is known and accounted for. However, there is a chance that Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT could reach capacity at some point during the day and block all guests from entering. This is rare but has been known to happen. My top suggestion for avoiding this issue is to enter either Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT earlier in the day (before 11:30 am) and stay there for the whole day. If you leave there is a chance you won't be allowed back in if the Park is full. A notice would be pushed out through the My Disney Experience Mobile App that will let you know if a Park has reached capacity or if Park Hopping to a certain Park is not allowed. I would make sure to have that app updated and keep an eye on it.

Whichever Park you end up choosing make sure to take breaks and not push yourself as it will be a long day waiting for the midnight countdown. I did a quick scan and saw that there are currently no Table Service Reservations available at Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT for that day for a party of 4. This means that you have not booked something yet for a leisurely sit-down meal I would plan for more of a Quick-Service meal. My favorite Quick-Service snacks can be found at Aloha Isle where the pineapple DOLE whip float is a perfect refresher. My favorite Quick-Service meal is found at Columbia Harbour House which has a large upstairs dining area that is dark and soothing with its fully mahogany-like wood paneling, tables, and chairs. These places have yet to fail me and I hope they work out well for you too!

I hope that you have a lovely and magical time!

    Happy Planning!
