Welcome to planDisney, Karla! It’s great to have you here and learn about your upcoming New Year’s Eve plans at
EPCOT. I've been there for New Year’s Eve before, and it was a lot of fun! There was plenty of food and drinks, and happy people were celebrating and sharing their love for all things Disney. I'm sure you will have a fantastic time too.
I have some excellent news for you:
Theme park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets, including special offer tickets like the 4-Park Magic Ticket and the 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket. This means you may not need a reservation. However, certain tickets still require one, such as Student group tickets, Sports and Convention tickets, Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket, Disney Military Salute Ticket,
Annual Pass, and other ticket types not mentioned above. Whether you need a park reservation depends on your ticket, not the day of your visit.
Having said that, it’s important to note that in the past, both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom have had to close their doors on New Year’s Eve due to capacity limits. If this happens again this year, no one will be allowed inside the theme park until it’s safe to do so. So, arriving early and staying inside once you’re in is best to avoid losing your spot. Also, keep in mind that theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability, which can change until the reservation is finalized.
If you're unsure about your ticket type and requirements, I recommend
reaching out directly to Disney World. You can call, chat, or email them, and Cast Members with full access to your account can provide the best recommendation. I find it super helpful to chat with Cast Members using the My Disney Experience app instead of the website.
I hope this info is helpful, Karla. If you have any more questions before, during, or after your trip,
don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help our awesome and magical friends like you.
Cheers,
Nilson
