Thanks Ritzi! What are your thoughts on the different view options@ POR? water, river, etc. Also- do you know which rooms were renovated? Wanted Royal Guest room but I don't get that option with 5 people, only when I book 4. Thanks!

Hi Liza! That's a great question! Thanks for asking me! Currently you can book any one of five room categories at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside (POR). Below you can find a brief description of each room type:

    1. Standard View: Rooms can overlook courtyards, garden areas, parking lots, or woods.
    2. Preferred Rooms: Rooms are fairly close to the main building and a bus depot.
    3. Water View: Rooms can overlook the Sassagoula River or a pool area.
    4. River View: Rooms with a guaranteed view of the Sassagoula River.
    5. King Bed Room: Rooms can be located anywhere on property. As the name suggests, they will have a single King-size bed, instead of two Queen-size, or two double-size, beds.

The resort-wide renovation project at POR is due to be completed by the end of summer 2012. Both Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace have been completely refurbished. Take a look at the resort's map HERE. The newly refurbished rooms have Queen-size beds instead of double beds, completely updated carpeting, furnishings, and flat-screen television sets.

For more information of what room locations to request, read HERE. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy a most memorable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
