Hiya, Sarah! Welcome back to planDisney, my friend! I'm so excited to see you back here with another great planning question!
Theme park tickets: check.
Theme Park Reservations for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and/or EPCOT: check. Ticket to
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: check. Now, let's chat about how you can add the Park Hopper option to hop, skip and jump into the fun at Magic Kingdom Park. The Park Hopper is your key to the magic, so let's tie up your loose planning ends and see what you can unlock!
Unfortunately, the Park Hopper option can only be added to
theme park tickets and not
water park tickets (unless you upgrade to the Park Hopper Plus option, which includes Park Hopper and admission to the water parks). Upgrade your theme park tickets to add the Park Hopper option by logging into your My Disney Experience app, tapping the three-line menu icon and then the "Tickets and Passes" tile. Find the ticket you would like to upgrade and select "Change Ticket." To upgrade to Park Hopper tickets, select "Ticket Type" and then "Park Hopper Option." Complete the transaction and happy hopping! It's Magic Kingdom time!
Don't forget that to park-hop, you
must first visit the theme park for which you have a Theme Park Reservation. For instance, if you have a Theme Park Reservation for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you must tap into the turnstiles at Animal Kingdom before entering Magic Kingdom at 2:00 p.m. or later that day. Since a theme park must be visited before park-hopping, unfortunately, you won't be able to hop to Magic Kingdom after Typhoon Lagoon unless you have a ticket and Theme Park Reservation for Magic Kingdom that day.
For what it's worth, if I was in your situation and had three magical days at Walt Disney World Resort with a wish list that included Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, I would make two Theme Park Reservations for Animal Kingdom with the hopes that I will be able to modify one of them to Magic Kingdom as it becomes available. If my trip was nearing and no Theme Park Reservation for Magic Kingdom was available, I would upgrade my tickets to add the Park Hopper option. Then, I would rope drop (arrive before park opening) Animal Kingdom and enjoy it until 1:00 or 1:30 each day before park-hopping over to Magic Kingdom. Since those two days will be long and full of fun and pixie dust, I would plan to visit Typhoon Lagoon in between the two busy theme park days. Typhoon Lagoon is the perfect combination of an oh-so-fun Disney day and a relaxing pool day, so it's a great way to relax your feet and break up the two long and busy (yet magical!) days.
I hope this clears things up, Sara! If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by any time! Chatting Disney with my pals is my favorite!
Blue skies and sunshine,
Mandy
