Welcome back to planDisney, Jerry!
As you head down to Walt Disney World Resort this week, I'll be heading north for some family time in New Jersey. I think you're on to something, though, and will request that our next family gathering take place in a warmer, more magical climate!
I'm Happy as the dwarf to
continue our discussion about the important nuances of using
Disney Genie+ service to maximize the magic on your park days. Once purchased, Disney Genie+ service is linked to individual
My Disney Experience accounts or account profiles. This means each individual has complete autonomy over their timeline for booking Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions, even if you purchase Disney Genie+ service as a group. In your example, you and your wife can make your next Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations as soon as you are eligible, regardless of whether or not your sister-in-law is also eligible. It's helpful to know that part of the reservation process allows you to edit and confirm the members of your travel party for each Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction. The app won't let you reserve attractions for Guests that are not eligible.
Reviewing our previously discussed timeline, everyone in your party should book their first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Each person is eligible to book their next Genie+ Lighting Lane attraction as soon as they've tapped in for the first attraction or two hours after park opening - whichever comes first. At certain attractions like The Magic Carpets of Aladdin at Magic Kingdom Park, you'll only have to use your
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) once to tap in for your Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation. At other attractions like Frozen Ever After at EPCOT, there are multiple touchpoints. You are eligible to book your next Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction as soon as you've tapped in at the last touchpoint. I make it a goal to book my next Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction before I've experienced the first.
I highly recommend practicing some
My Disney Experience mobile app thumb choreography over the next few days, Jerry. Familiarize yourself with your Tip Board, in particular (three small lines at the bottom right of the home page --> Tip Board). If you get lost,
you know where to find me!
Plan magic; planDisney.
