Thanks to the Panel for all of your helpful info. After a fun filled vac. I forgot to inquire at FW resort about Snowbird rates. Does anyone have info? Thank you in advance.

    Hi there Cathy,

Welcome Home!  I am so glad to hear you had an amazing stay at the Walt Disney World Resort!  I am headed back this weekend and couldn't be more excited.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground has a very special place in my heart.  I have stayed there many times over the years in both camper and cabin and have had a blast every single visit.  I have always admired the long-term "snowbird" sites all decorated with their Disney trinkets and lights and have even been a tad bit jealous of those who posted up there for weeks or even months at a time.  That's the good life, in my opinion.

In past years, Fort Wilderness has offered what was known as a "Settler's Rate" which was available for those campers staying in excess of 30 days.  Unfortunately, I recently heard that this offer has been discontinued as of 2015 and the prevailing rate will apply to all reservations regardless of length of stay. This was a bummer to me, as my snowbird dreams were crushed.  Even though the extended stay discount is no longer available, you may still be able to take advantage of lower rates during off season time of the year.

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
