Thanks Moms Panel for your help. Wondering if the Sword in the Stone still works occasionally like it used to. We hope for the opportunity for the kids in our party to experience this, a perfect picture moment if it were to work! Anyone have info?

Hi Cathy! The wonders of the Sword in the Stone in front of the Magic Kingdom Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is a fun experience.

The sword remains but the great Merlin show from years gone by was ended in 2008. Merlin would gather boys and girls around and allow one to pull the sword from the stone if they could. It was fun and is greatly missed by those guests who were lucky enough to enjoy it. Today the sword is there for all guests to attempt to pull it from its stone base. I have tried to get the latest information whether it still works occasionally. As late as 2012 kids could attempt to pull and sometimes they found the sword come half way out. Whether this continues I honestly am not sure. It is still a great photo opportunity to have your children trying with all their might and who knows...maybe there is some magic and the sword will move!
