Thanks Kirsten!! do you know about requesting rooms at the Polylnesian? I've been told only some have balconies. Can we put in a request for a room with a balcony before we arrive or do we just see what's avaialable when we check in?

    Hi Kate!

It's so nice to hear back from you!

You are correct, not all rooms at Disney's Polynesian Resort have balconies. First floor rooms have patios, and third floor rooms have balconies. Some newer buildings' second floor rooms have balconies while many have 'false' or french balconies, whereby the doors open for fresh air, however there is no exterior balcony. If a balcony is important to you, I'd definitely recommend that you have a 'request' placed on your Resort Room file. Such requests cannot be guaranteed, but it it certainly improves your chances if the note is made prior to your room assignment. Simply call in at (407) 939-7675 and advise the Cast Member you speak with that you'd like to have some notes added to your file.

If your reservation is for a standard view or garden view room, I'd recommend that you request a third floor room at the Rarotonga, Tokelau or Tahiti longhouses. Tahiti is very close to the transportation and ticket centre monorails to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Tokelau is in a very central location, close to both pools. Rarotonga is closest to dining options in the Great Ceremonial House as well as the resort monorail. If you've reserved a lagoon view room, consider requesting a third floor room in Tokelau, Tahiti or Samoa.

As you check-in, mention to the Cast Member that you had placed a request on file for a balcony room. At that point, if there are options, you may even get to choose from what's becoming available for check-in that day.

I just love the serenity and tranquility of the gardens at the Polynesian at night. It's so enjoyable to sit out on the balcony sipping a kappuccino or tropical beverage and watching the torches flicker along the pathways while the kids nod off.

Wishing you a Magical time planning as you anticipate your wonderful holiday!
Hope to hear from you again soon Kate.
