    Thanks Kim! I love this forum! Could you suggest a village at Caribbean Beach for our family (4 years and 17 months old)? We'd like to be close to a playground/beach and possibly the bus stops.We're booking for Oct.-can we request a village when we book?

    Hi Catherine, I’m so glad you are finding our forum helpful!

    Caribbean Beach Resort is a beautiful, tropical oasis. However it is quite large. I would recommend that families traveling with small children request a preferred room which would give you a building closer to the resort’s amenities at Old Port Royale. During your October stay, preferred rooms in Trinidad North and Martinique will cost approximately $20 more per night. Of these, Martinique would give you the best proximity to a playground, beach and bus stop.

    To save money, I would recommend the Jamaica village section. It is over two bridges that connect Caribbean Cay with the Jamaica and Old Port Royale sections of the resort. It is a scenic, relaxing walk but can seem very long at the end of a theme park day. Building 45 is the closest to the bridge, and is also near the quiet pool and bus stop. There is a nearby playground and laundry facilities as well.

    We found the Jamaica quiet pool a nice place to relax in the evenings. We also enjoyed the Jamaica beach area where we could relax and our son could enjoy the playground and sand. The many outdoor courtyards provide benches and/or tables with chairs. It was nice to sit outside for a quiet snack before heading back to our room.

    Also, you may want to request a first floor room as there are no elevators in any of the Caribbean Beach Resort’s 2-story buildings. For guests with strollers, I would avoid trying to navigate the stairs after a long day.

    Just remember to have your requests noted on your reservation. Requests are not guaranteed, although paying for a preferred room will guarantee you a room closest to the Old Port Royale’s pool, food court and store. Best wishes!
