Hi & thanks for helping me plan my family vaca!! My parents are joining us in Disney next month. Dad has severe neuropathy from diabetes & can't walk long distances without pain. What bldg do you suggest @ POFQ that is close to buses, pool, food co

    Hi Jennifer!

I'm so glad that your parents will be joining you - the more the merrier!!!  Walt Disney World is wonderful about accommodating guests with all types of disabilities and health concerns.  Port Orleans French Quarter is such a quaint resort and I think that it is the perfect size for your family to explore.  In fact, it is the smallest resort on property and every room has a beautiful view!  Building Five is the closest area to the food court, lobby and pool, although Building Two is also fairly close.

I'm not sure if you would be interested or not, but over on there is a great section on how to tackle Walt Disney World with a special needs family member.  If you click on the above link, select "Planning" and then choose "Special Needs Overview."  An entire section is devoted to mobility issues - your dad may pick up a few good tips!  Have a fabulous trip with your family!!!
