Hi again Jaynee,
It’s so great to see you again at planDisney! Thank you so much for asking me a follow-up question.
I laughed when you said that technology isn’t your friend because, man, do I ever understand! The good news is that even if you goof up your
MagicBand+ linking process like Goofy, there is always some Disney Magic around to make things right!
If I understand correctly, the MagicBand+ bracelets that you ordered for your upcoming trip are now paired to your My Disney Experience account, but they’re reading as “not connected” to your mobile phone. First things first – you can absolutely use them for entry to any Walt Disney World Theme Park and to enter your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room, once you’ve arrived. Phew! First, and frankly, most important step: check!
If you want to pair them with your mobile device in order to fully unlock their functionalities during your upcoming trip, then yes, you do have to click and hold the Bluetooth “pair” button. Have the “settings” app open on your phone and, when your MagicBand+ pops up in the list of potential devices to pair, click on it. Your MagicBand+ should now read “connected” to your mobile device.
Don’t forget to download the
Play Disney Parks app onto your phone. If you’re planning to visit the planet Baatu at
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this will now allow you to turn your phone into a
Star Wars Datapad. You’ll be able to interact with droids and even do some interactive adventures to help the residents of Black Spire Outpost. I had a ton of fun playing along during my last visit "off world"!
I hope I understood your question correctly, Jaynee. If I didn’t, or if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back and see me!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
