Thanks for the help! Planning to take my big DSLR camera and a backpack each day but worried about what to do w/ everything on rides (esp. water). Particularly worried about camera. What do I do w/ everything? How do you recommend taking camera?

Hi Jessica! Taking your best camera on vacation so you can come home with the best memories is hard not to do!  When traveling to a location such as Walt Disney World where photo opportunities will abound it is a must!

Taking a backpack on most attractions will not be an issue. When you get to the thrill rides such as the coasters you will have a small area to put it in but understand it is small.  Try to keep your needs to a minimum and go with something small and compact if possible. If you have family members not wanting to take the ride then of course they can watch it for you. You can also rent a locker in each park for the day but that can be a nuisance if you will be needing things out of it as most lockers are located at the entrances to the parks.

Taking care of a camera will be the most important concern due to its value. Purchase the over sized large baggies at your local store and bring several of these with you. I take them on all trips in case we have wet bathing suits on the day we depart and have to pack. You can get large sizes that should be big enough even for an oversized camera. When heading to a water ride put the camera in one or even double bag and it should be safe from damage from water. If the bag gets wet on a ride make sure you remove the camera right away and dispose of the bags.
