Thanks for your help - just one more question! We have an ADR (thinking dessert only)at CG for 9:30.Is it likely that we'll be seated in time to watch Wishes at 10:00? Would having dessert only make for a very long evening with kids? Our hotel is the CR.

Hi Beth!  Many people head to the California Grill to see the fireworks from their table.  There are obviously only a few tables that are window side so it is not a guarantee you will be at one of them for your dessert.  However, for those dining in the restaurant you can view them from a special section on the 16th floor.

The biggest problem with the California Grill is the fact that EVERYONE wants to be there for the fireworks so the reservation times get very back-logged. We have had to wait as long as 45 minutes before our table became available due to people stalling and sitting so they didn't have to leave before the show. Once the fireworks are over the place will clear out quickly!

Since the check-in location for the restaurant is on the second floor you also run the risk of missing the show if they are behind.  I personally would rather take the monorail to the Polynesian and watch from the beach there or the boat to Fort Wilderness and watch from the beach there.  No matter what you do it will be a long evening for the kids!
