Thanks for all your help!! Can you see the MK opening ceremony without being in the park? We'd like to catch it (and hopefully gather some pixie dust!) before going to O'hana for breakfast? We have 10:00am reservations - would we make it on time?

Hi Jackie! You have plenty of time and you can get pretty close (depending on crowds). Just head over to Magic Kingdom, go through security (they'll need to check your bags before you go past that point) and then you'll be in the area where the turnstiles are located. There will be a set of turnstiles on the left and another set on the right - just go somewhere in the middle and enjoy! Once the ceremony is over, you can hop on the resort monorail and in just three short stops, you'll be at the Polynesian.
