Thanks for this great panel! We will be coming to WDW on May 6, 2013 and staying at Port Orleans Riverside. I wanted to know where will be the best place to eat to see the fireworks? We have purchased the Deluxe Dining Plan.

    Hi Jacquelynn!

This is a great question.  There are nighttime spectaculars in three of the theme parks:
    • Wishes in the Magic Kingdom
    • Illuminations in Epcot
    • Fantasmic in Disney's Hollywood Studios

Fantasmic takes place in a custom built stadium in Disney's Hollywood Studios and there are no restaurants around of any kind.  Wishes can be seen throughout the Magic Kingdom, but I don't think there is any restaurant that offers a good view of the Fireworks; you can catch glimpses of it from Cinderella's Royal Table and the Crystal Palace.  However, I have not dined in the new Be Our Guest restaurant opening up in Fantasyland soon; it might have a view of Wishes depending upon the layout of the restaurant.

There are several good restaurants in Epcot that afford a great view of Illuminations.  The two favorite are the Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom Pavilion and La Hacienda in the Mexico Pavilion.  Some guests also enjoy watching Illuminations from Tokyo Dining in the Japan Pavilion, but I have never done it there myself.  Wherever you decide to dine, you should make your reservation for 60 to 90 minutes before Illuminations.  When you arrive at the restaurant, explain to the Cast Member at the check-in podium that you would like to wait for a table with a view; that could be a long wait which is why I suggest reservations between 60 and 90 minutes before showtime.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
