    Hi Moms! Thanks so much for all the great information! I heard there is horseback riding at Ft. Wilderness. I think my daughter is old enough...she is 9. Do you have to make advance reservations for this? We are going in November. Thanks.

    The age requirement for this activity is 9, so your daughter is good to go! Reservations for horseback riding are necessary, and you can make them up to 90 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

    I went on the trail ride from Fort Wilderness with my oldest daughter when she had just turned 9. We had a lovely mommy/daughter bonding time there. The horses are very gentle. Though my daughter rides, I don't. I am often intimidated by large horses, but these were so easy that I felt perfectly comfortable the entire time. There was even a special needs child in our group that had a wonderful riding experience.

    When you make your reservation, they will tell you to wear long pants for this experience. You should remember to do this, as I did see one person wearing shorts turned away.
