Ahoy again, Debbie!
Welcome back to planDisney! It’s great to hear from you again—I can tell you’re
charting a course for smooth sailing and sweet dreams for your grandson!
When it comes to moving the mattress from the sofa bed to the floor, you’ll be happy to know that yes, it can be done. The mattress can be lifted off and placed on the floor if you’d like to give him a little more space to stretch out those legs. If your stateroom also has a ceiling pull-down bed (bunk bed) that you won’t be using, that mattress can be used as well—it’s a great option if your crew prefers a bit more flexibility in your sleeping setup.
If you decide to go this route, I recommend letting your Stateroom Host know on embarkation day so they can make it just right. They’ll take care of the setup each evening and
put everything away in the morning so your room still feels open and ready for the day’s adventures.
For some extra comfort, I also suggest asking your Stateroom Host for a foam mattress pad. While these are limited in supply, it never hurts to ask. On my last sailing, our Stateroom Host worked a little Disney magic and found one—it made all the difference for a great night’s sleep!
I hope this helps you
prepare for your upcoming voyage and ensures your grandson can drift off as peacefully as Aurora after pricking her finger on that spinning wheel. Before long, you’ll be watching the sun rise over the ocean from your verandah, knowing everyone got a magical night’s rest.
Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
Dustin
