Jeanette,
It has been our pleasure to answer your questions and we're glad you turned to us for our tips and advice. We enjoy helping others by spreading the pixie-dust so that everyone can make the most of their magical vacations.
In regards to tipping, it is customary to tip at table service restaurants just as you would at home. However, gratuity is not included in the
Disney Dining Plans. You will need to have another form of payment, if you have not provided a credit card for additional charges to your room. Keep in mind that an automatic 18% gratuity will be automatically added to your bill for parties of 6 or more as well as items that are not included in your dining plan such as alcoholic beverages.
You will be provided with a receipt after each meal that will have a running tally of your available credits. This tally will also appear on receipts from quick service restaurants, too! It is a great way to keep track.
As stated in the official online brochure for the Deluxe Dining Plan, the exclusions are as follows:
- alcoholic beverages
- items that are more than a single serving (ie, box of doughnuts or jar of peanut butter)
- items (such as popcorn or beverages) that are served in a souvenir container
- items sold from recreational rental counters
- items that are considered merchandise (ie, glow cubes, bottle toppers, bottle straps)
- special dining events with special menus that are offered at certain table service locations
Bon Appétit,
