thanks for all your answers! my little one will be turning 3 on our trip which is a little young for the special pirate experiences - where can he get up close with captain hook or other pirate icons?

I would suggest attending Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial in the Magic Kingdom. This show takes place on a small stage in Adventureland near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Jack Sparrow and other pirates invite kids on stage to learn sword techniques and take a pirate oath. It's performed throughout the day!

Pirates also have character meet 'n greets in Adventureland.

Captain Hook sometimes makes appearances too. Peter Pan characters can be found between Mickey's Philharmagic and Tinker Bell's Fairy Treasures.

Check your Magic Kingdom Times Guide when you enter the park for the most current schedule!

Yo ho! For a splurge, try Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise.
