Thanks for ans to prev q. Another Q - would you recommend one park over the others on a particularly rainy day? Is one park better suited to maneuver on a very rainy day as compared to the others? We have enough days to visit all 4.

Most folks tend to gravitate toward DisneyQuest or the movie theatre at Downtown Disney—talk about crowds!....but in the event it does rain (and it did—A LOT in May—just ask my fellow Disney Mom Kay who visited recently!), you've got lots of options.  Every park has its positives on rainy days:

    • Animal Kingdom offers many shows to enjoy during a rain storm plus the Kilamanjaro Safaris—wet weather really gets the animals moving!
    • Disney Studios provides lots of rides that aren't affected by rain on their tracks and you get a bonus that their lines are in-doors: The Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Midway Mania, Tower of Terror, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
    • Epcot sports wide concrete sidewalks that give you plenty of room in a deluge to move from building to building where most of its attractions are housed.
    • And Magic Kingdom lends a taste of all of the above options.
If I had to pick one park to do in the rain, it would be Animal Kingdom.  It's a smaller park, closes early and the optimist in me says, "Afterall, tomorrow is another day" and I would probably only miss Expedition Everest (it seems to be closed down during rain more than other attractions).  HOWEVER, if it's rain off and on, the park CAN become a sauna (did I stress that enough?) under the vegetation.

My other pick is Magic Kingdom because the park practically empties out during the rain, and our family doesn't mind putting on a poncho and going for it.  There's nothing like riding Splash Mountain over and over—you're gonna get wet anyway!

    Wishing y'all a magical—and sunny—vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
