Hi again Katherin!
Thanks so much! Being on the panel can be very rewarding specially when guests return with more questions! I have been wanting to do the same thing for the past four trips to Walt Disney World! My kids are just about the right age to be able to appreciate all that NASA's Kennedy Space Center has to offer! Did you know that Bernie, one of our very own Disney Moms/Dads, works as an Engineer for NASA?
I have double checked my very reliable source "The Complete Walt Disney World 2011" guide and while I knew about certain places to rent a car I didn't know there where so many in Walt Disney World... Here is an excerpt from the guide:
"...the most convenient place to rent a car may be Disney's Car Care Center..." The number to call is 407-824-3470 and they offer Alamo and National vehicles. You can even have a shuttle pick you up at your Disney Resort (Coronado Springs).
Another great bit of information in the guide is:
"Local rental-car customers pay a 6% sales tax, a $2.50 daily "road impact fee" and a 10 percent surcharge to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority"
Just to make sure, I checked online to see if there was any type of shuttle service to the Kennedy Space Center and the fees that I found were much more than a standard rental car rate for the day.
Good luck and I hope you have a great time on your vacation! Take lots of pictures! Thanks again for asking the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!
