Hi and thanks again for all of the help your site provides. We are staying at AK beginning 12/3/13. I see that we can check in on line and would like to do that. What is the deadline for online check in? Can I do it just a few days before we arrive?

    Hi Pamela,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm a fan of using the Walt Disney World online check-in system. It's sort of like a FastPass through the paperwork.

By registering in advance, you give the cast members a chance to have your welcome packet -- including your Keys to the World Cards, maps, parking pass, Times Guide and more -- all ready for you on your arrival. You also give the resort an approximate time of arrival, so that they can try to have your room ready, even if you get in before the official check in time of 3 p.m.

I have checked in online as late as the day before my arrival and found my packet waiting. But normally I try to complete the process at least a week in advance.

When you get to Animal Kingdom Lodge, look for the separate (and shorter) line for those who have done online check in. It will be marked with a stylized computer icon. All you have left to do is show your ID and credit card and pick up your information. You will be on your way in just a few minutes.

I hope that's helpful. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as you enter the final countdown to your Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy!
