Thanks for all the advice. What would you recommend (b'fast or dinner) for each of these restaurants: O'hana, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Fare and Cape May Cafe. What food is served for b'fast/dinner for each? Any other restaurants to take note?

    Hi Genia,

Some of these restaurants only have characters at specific meals, so I'll let you know which meal has characters.  Then I'll let you know which meal I prefer -- it's not always the character dining experience.

'Ohana - Breakfast is a character meal with Lilo & Stitch.  The food is decent and served family style.  Our family much prefers dinner at this restaurant.  There are storytellers, games and great food that make this a unique dining experience.

Crystal Palace - all meals feature Winnie the Pooh and friends.  I really enjoy the breakfast buffet at this restaurant.

Chef Mickey's - all meals feature Mickey, Minnie and pals.  This restaurant is often difficult to get reservations for, so take whatever you get.  Although my kids like the desserts at dinner here.

1900 Park Fare - Breakfast features Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh and Mad Hatter - basically British characters.  The food is wonderful - lobster benedict, strawberry soup, and just about any other breakfast dish imaginable.  Dinner is totally different - it's a dinner party featuring the cast from Cinderella.  You could do both experiences and not feel like you're dining at the same restaurant.

Cape May Cafe - Breakfast is a character meal with Minnie and pals dressed for a day at the beach.  Our family loves this character breakfast.  It's not as chaotic as some of the others, and the buffet selection is really nice.  Dinner is a non-character, New England clam boil.  Being from New England we've never dined here for dinner as we can get that type of food regularly at home.  However, I've heard good things about it.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
