Thanks in advance for your help. I hope my ? will make some sense. We hope to go to WDW in Dec '10 and stay on site. If we didn't want to do MVMCP, are we being shortchanged as far as MK park hours and parades even though we are resort guests?

    Hi Karen,

On the nights of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Magic Kingdom does close earlier than normal.  All guests (even those staying on property) are asked to leave the park unless they have purchased a ticket to the party.  If you are attending the party you will be given a bracelet to wear that will identify you as a party guest.

To avoid feeling shortchanged, I suggest going to a different park.  Magic Kingdom will be the only park that will close earlier than normal.  If you have a park hopper pass, you may consider spending the first half of the day at Magic Kingdom and spending your evening at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
