Thank you for your response. So if my card balance is $12, but my purchase is $15, will the cashier automatically credit the $12 to the sale and collect the $3 balance from me. I''m concerned because the children will use the cards alone/unsupervised. Thx

In my experience that is exactly how transactions are processed at Walt Disney World when a gift card balance can not cover the purchase total, Carol.  If your children attempt to make a purchase with a gift card, the balance of that card will be applied to the total.  The register will then show a remaining balance and your kids can pay that balance using cash, or a second gift card.  I don't imagine they will have any trouble.  Have a great trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
