Thank you for your reply on CS vs POR. We have decided to try POR. If you could also advise your thoughts on best room location for both preferred and standard for 3 adults I would really appreciate it. Also, how are crowd levels Sept 23-Oct 2nd? Than you!

    Hello again, Roxanne!

I'm so glad my previous answer was helpful and that you have decided to try something new with Disney's Port Orleans Riverside. I really think you will love the lush southern atmosphere and the charm of the Louisiana bayou-esque feel.

Typically, a preferred room is one that has a water view, garden view or is in a convenient centralized location to bus stops and/or food and beverage outlets. I would recommend requesting a room in either Oak Manor or Magnolia Terrace for the Magnolia Bend area or Building 14 or 18 in Alligator Bayou. Alligator Bayou is fashioned after the backwoods rustic cabins near the bayous, whereas Magnolia Bend is themed to look like the antebellum plantation homes. Both are equally as nice, yet each area has its own unique vibe. For more standard rooms, which often have views of parking areas or are further from the main buildings, I would recommend Acadian House in Magnolia Bend or Building 37 in Alligator Bayou. Both of these are very close to the North Bus Depot. Keep in mind that requests cannot be guaranteed and are based on availability upon check-in.

Late September to early October is a great time to visit. This time of year is typically not as crowded since most schools are in session and fall breaks have not started yet. You should find crowd levels quite manageable. This is not to say that you'll have no waits at all, but they would be considerably less than the waits during peak times such as spring break and summertime.

May you create wonderful memories on this pixie-dusted trip!
