Thank you so much!! Reading about EMH and long lines...wondering about MK on day of MNSSHP. Closes at 7...does this mean less crowded on those days? Does bus from AKL transport other hotels' guests too? Will it drop off at CM for 7AM resv?

    Hello, Amanda!

This past fall, we actually headed out of Magic Kingdom at about 5 p.m. on a day when there was a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that night, as did many other guests. The crowd level wasn't bad at all, so we had seen most of we wanted to accomplish by that hour.  We encountered several families heading back INTO the park, in costume for the MNSSHP, once we got back to Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village. They all looked fantastic!  In addition, according to Touring Plans, which is an unofficial site that helps Guests navigate the parks more efficiently, most of the days on which there was a MNSSHP last October recommended Magic Kingdom as the best park to attend, based on crowd levels.

The bus from Animal Kingdom Lodge will stop at both Kidani Village as well as Jambo House; both of these resorts are right next to each other, so it's an even quicker stop than if you were staying at one of the more spread-out resorts, which has multiple bus stops each, such as Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa or Disney's Old Key West Resort. These buses will not stop at other resorts.

Now, regarding your transportation to Chef Mickey's for a 7 a.m. reservation, I suggest that you contact Guest Services at the resort once you get there. That is a very early reservation, and buses only begin to run about an hour prior to parks opening. However, transportation policies do change from time to time, so this may be different by the time you arrive this fall. Worst case scenario is that you'll have to take a taxi to Chef Mickey's on the way to your breakfast, but you'll be fine using Disney Resort transportation once you have finished your meal.
