Hi Angel!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney to see us again! I am so happy that you are still considering a visit to
the happiest place in Europe. Let’s talk a bit more about the attractions at Disneyland Paris!
Walt Disney Imagineering puts so much thought into every detail of each attraction, elevating them to much more than you would find in a typical theme park.
Hyperspace Mountain is a great example of taking a rollercoaster and making it feel like a turbulent race through space, inspired by Star Wars. The load station is under cover, and as the ride begins, you immediately head into darkness, where you remain for the entire experience. I love the start of this ride, as soon as you move inside, the instantly recognisable Star Wars theme begins. It gives me goosebumps every time, and I am not even a Star Wars fan! While on the attraction, you have no real sense of how high up you are, and you cannot see the track or the ground. You can, however, definitely feel the speed and the inversions as you move through them.
Another attraction that takes place mostly in the dark is
Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, which is quite similar in intensity to Hyperspace Mountain. This time, you are joining Iron Man and Captain Marvel on a mission in space! This attraction originally opened as Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster and was once the fastest rollercoaster in Europe, so while it is in the dark, you will really feel the power of the launch. As I mentioned in my previous answer, there is also Crush’s Coaster. This one is again mostly in the dark and does not have inversions, but it does spin, and it is one of my family’s favourite attractions across Disneyland Paris!
The only rollercoaster-style attraction that takes place fully outdoors, with an inversion and a clear sense of height, is
Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril. It is a fun ride, but based on what you have shared about your feelings towards rollercoasters, this might be one to enjoy from the sidelines. I would not place Big Thunder Mountain in this same category, as it does not have inversions. While it does climb hills, the track stays close to the mountain, so it does not give the same feeling of height.
I hope this helps to answer your question today, Angel, and thank you for letting me talk about one of my favourite subjects, rollercoasters! If you have any other questions, please
reach out to me. I'd love to help!
See ya real soon!
Matt
