Thank you for the information Heather. You are a true testament to Disney cast members. I walk with a cane and can’t walk great distances, but have resisted applying for a handicapped placard. I should be ok to walk to the “people movers” You still have ?

    Hi Jeffrey!

Thank you for the kind words! I truly love helping guests just like you. Nothing makes me happier than helping Disney lovers just like myself plan unforgettable vacations.

Courtesy trams have returned to all four theme parks at Walt Disney World. These trams provide a convenient mode of transportation from the theme park’s parking lot to its Main Entrance (or to the Ticket and Transportation Center when visiting Magic Kingdom park) and back. I typically see trams transporting guests every 4-8 minutes, making them a great option for those with some mobility concerns. We definitely want to help you save your energy for the Theme Parks!

Another option is to talk with one of the parking attendants. Sometimes they may allow the driver to drop you off closer to the front of the parking area to reduce your walking distance. If allowed, the driver can then loop back around, park the car, and meet you at the entrance to the Theme Park or where you'll go to pick up your ECV. While I can’t guarantee that they will permit this, it’s certainly worth asking.

Additionally, be sure to check out our guide for those with mobility disabilities before your trip. I want you to have the most stress-free and enjoyable time possible. Thank you for writing back and please come back and see me again real soon! You made my day!
