Hi Nicola,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question! The
My Disney Experience mobile app is a great way to have all the vacation information you need in the palm of your hand.
Yes, a debit or credit card can be added to the My Disney Experience mobile app for
purchases such as mobile food orders. It sounds like your son has his own My Disney Experience account? If he does, he’ll want to sign in to the My Disney Experience mobile app and select the three lines in the lower right-hand corner. Next, scroll down below the boxes to a line item called “My Profile” then select “Payment Method”. There you can add up to six debit or credit cards for mobile payment methods.
Now if he doesn’t have his own My Disney Experience account, first you’ll want to make sure he’s a part of your “Family and Friends List” this way his MagicBand will link to the card you have on file in your My Disney Experience account. If you are staying at one of the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, you will also be able to make a “Room Account PIN” which is a four-digit PIN number that can be used with his
MagicBand to make purchases throughout the
Walt Disney World Resort. Pro Tip: When I check in with the Front Desk, I like to confirm the card I have on file for any merchandise charges to the room. If needed, you should be able to work with the Font Desk to link the correct card for his purchases. Once all of this is set up, he should be all set to scan his MagicBand for purchases throughout the Walt Disney World Resort!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in June. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out with any other
planning or vacation questions, I am always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
