Want to thank EVERYONE 4 answers to my question. Alas, I have another question! lol I'm trying 2 do a budget for souvenirs. How much should I allot for souvenirs. It's just myself, my hubby, & 6yr old daughter. Thanks!! Y'all are fabulous!

Hi Eva! Oh it is just too hard to budget when thinking about shopping at Walt Disney World. There are so many great shops offering wonderful merchandise from clothes to toys to collectibles.

Yet reality does dictate we have to hold back and not try to win the shopping wars during vacation. Try to decide what kind of things you usually like to get when on vacation. Some guests love to purchase a new t-shirt on every trip and those can cost from $15-$25 each. Simple toys and dolls might average around $35. Collectibles such as a crystal Mickey can range from $100-$200 or more. Then you have the very simple souvenirs such as pins that can be found from $5-$15 each.  Once you decide the type of souvenirs you will be looking for it will be easier to pick that number for your shopping budget.

I suggest everyone get a Disney gift card which will allow them to make their own purchases and decisions for what to take home. There are also Disney Dollars which your daughter might enjoy using and they can be used at any store on Disney property for anything she might wish to purchase. Even young children become more careful shoppers when they use their own money to purchase that something special and using Disney money is a lot more fun!

I wish I could give you an exact number for souvenir shopping but it is a very personal decision. My best advice is to look around and wait to buy something towards the end of your stay so you make the best choice from what you have seen. The guests who really get into trouble are those who buy every little thing they see from day one!
