Thank you Cathy S. A follow up question.Do you think the majority of people wont want to be at the parks on the days they offer extended hours? If so, would it not be better to do the opposite so we are opposite of the crowds?Or stay with ext. hour parks?

    Hi, Richard!

Well it sounds like you are starting to put together your agenda - I am so happy!  Once you have it all done, I will try to convince you to put it all on an Excel spreadsheet, then you will have totally been transformed into a true Disney World planner!

How you plan your days is going to depend on your family.  You mentioned you have young kids, so I really would not plan on super late nights as you do not want to tire them out too much.  I usually plan one late night at the Magic Kingdom, and the rest of my nights getting back to my resort at a decent hour.

But back to your question.  I usually do just what you said.  If Epcot has Extra Magic Hours on a Tuesday, I will avoid Epcot that day try to make Epcot my day on Wednesday. My exception is that one late Extra Magic Hours night I always give my kids, then it is very late at Magic Kingdom with a sleep-in/pool day to follow.

I also like to check crowd forecast calendars.  My favorite is at UndercoverTourist.com.   Go to their website and click on Crowd Calendars.  Choose your travel month and you will see which days they suggest which parks.  Try to choose as many "green" days as possible.  Using their system is no guarantee, but I find their predictions to be pretty good! If you send me your travel dates, I can give you my suggestions if that will help.

You are off to a great start!  Get your days figured out, then move onto dining.  This is pretty fun, right?  All your work will definitely pay off when you get to your vacation. Keep me posted!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
