HI, thank you for answering a recent question of mine. I was just about to book the aloha dinner show and am a bit hesitant after reading some reviews. We will be traveling with a 6 and 13 yr old boys and not sure if this would be too long for them ? thx

    Hello, Sue!

I'm glad you asked this question!

I, too, have read mixed reviews about Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney's Polynesian Resort; it seems that some Guests absolutely love this experience and would never miss it, yet others were not impressed. When I see these types of conflicting reviews, I have to believe that each of those Guests went in with differing expectations. How else could so many people LOVE one experience, yet others do not? Next, I reread the negative reviews to see if the complaints are reasonable, and if I would have been similarly disappointed if I had experienced that same situation. (One complaint I read online included a comment that the Guest didn't like the brands of beer offered at a dinner show. We don't drink beer, so that wouldn't bother us at all...)

If your boys are people-watchers or enjoy live entertainment, I don't think that they'd find the dinner show to be too long, though. Just to be sure, consider taking a look at videos of this show on youtube.com. I found one that runs at almost 34 minutes and will give you a nice idea of what the show entails. You could even show a clip to each of your boys and let them decide if this is something that they'd like to see, and make your reservations accordingly (I know it's night and day when we let our kids help pick our restaurants, shows, etc. while on vacation, rather than if I do all of the selecting.)

Good luck in your decision! Please send more questions as you think of them, too! I'd love to help!
