    Thank you so much for answering my question, you are all so wonderfully helpful. SO, to clarify, if there are 5 on my friends party and 5 on ours, our gratuity would be at our discretion? Could be do ADR for a table of 10 and do separate bills though?

    Hi, Stacey!   Here is how it will work:   book your Advance Dining Reservation for your ENTIRE party.  When you are ordering let the cast member how you want the check divided.   Regardless of how you are paying, because there are 6 or more at your table, you will be charged 18% gratuity on your portion.  

    Here is an example:  I recently had a sit-down meal with 7 other moms.  We each had our own check, so mine was $20 plus 18% gratuity ($3.60,) so my total bill was $23.60.   The automatic gratuity is based on the total number of guests at your table, not how the checks are divided. 

    So, YES, you can have separate checks, but the 18% will automatically be added on.  I think you will find your service to be excellent, and if for some reason you have a problem and feel the 18% is not appropriate, ask to see a manager.
