Thank you for your answer to my question about POR vs Art of Animation. What if we don't stay in a suite at AofA (there are only 3 of us)? Would you still recommend that over POR? What about proximity to the different areas of the park?

Hi Rene....good point and I apologize for not noting that option. Usually I would suggest any new resort because of it being NEW. But Port Orleans Riverside has just been refurbished and I think you would really enjoy the rooms over there. If you are deciding between a regular Art of Animation room or a Port Orleans room (either Riverside or French Quarter) I would definitely opt for Port Orleans.  Being a moderate resort you will get just a few more amenities for your stay and the resorts are closer to the parks for the most part. I love the fact that you can hop on a boat at Port Orleans and ride to Downtown Disney or take a carriage ride in the evening. The pool will be a little more sophisticated and the dining a little more extensive there. If you get a chance be sure and take time to hear Yeehaw Bob who plays in the lounge area most nights.

You still have to deal with the bus systems and crowded buses but your trips are generally shorter and it is something you can learn to live with. Nothing is within walking distance and to get to all parks it must be by bus. Times to parks follow:
    Animal Kingdom-26 minutes
    Epcot-26 minutes
    Hollywood Studios- 14 minutes
    Magic Kingdom-17 minutes
These are all averages so please don't hold a bus driver to your timing! Always give yourself plenty of time to reach a destination especially if you have a dining reservation waiting. Remember the buses will come by the stops about every 15-20 minutes so include that in your estimation of the trip. I always see my bus drive away when I reach the stop meaning I am always waiting the full time!
