can i text a ticket to a friend and they use it to get into the parks?

Hey there, hi there, Jay! Welcome to planDisney!

Wow, your visit to the Disneyland Resort is only one sleep away—how exciting! It sounds like you're putting the finishing touches on your trip logistics, and you've asked a great question.

The simple answer is yes, your friend can use a screenshot of a valid park ticket to enter the parks, as long as the barcode is clear and scannable at the main entrance. That barcode just needs a little spark of magic (and a clear scan!) to grant entry. However, there's a pixie dust-sized caveat: the ticket must be completely unused. If it's a multi-day ticket, for example, it needs to be ready for its very first use—meaning no one else has entered a park with it before—for your friend to be able to redeem it.

Now, while a screenshot can definitely get your friend through the gate, trust me when I say you'll want to encourage them to download the Disneyland mobile app and link all your park tickets there. This app is an absolute game-changer for maximizing your fun! For starters, if you and your friends plan to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass, linking your tickets in the app is the magic touch that allows you to book return times together. Imagine, no more trying to coordinate different schedules—you can all zoom through the line as one happy group!

Getting those tickets linked in the app is a breeze. Here's how to do it: Simply open the app, tap the menu (☰) button at the bottom, then select "My Tickets & Passes". Tap the blue plus (+) sign in the top right corner, followed by "Link Tickets & Passes". From there, your friend can either select "Camera" to scan the barcode from the ticket you're sharing with them, or tap the "Type ID" button and manually enter the ticket's ID number.

Beyond Lightning Lane Multi Pass, having your tickets always on your phone means no fumbling for screenshots or worrying about battery life on one device, keeping your focus on the magic! Plus, the app is your ultimate resource for checking wait times, mobile ordering delicious treats, finding your favorite characters, and effortlessly navigating the entire park. It's truly like having your own personal tour guide right in your pocket!

Speaking of delicious treats, get ready to "Celebrate Happy" because your visit perfectly coincides with the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! This special anniversary brings with it a whole new menu of limited-time festive food and beverages across both parks. From themed churros and macarons to savory delights and unique cold brews, there are so many whimsical bites and sips to discover. Keep an eye out for celebratory eats that honor Walt Disney's favorites and nostalgic treats with a modern twist—the perfect way to add some extra sparkle to your visit!

I hope this helps ensure a smooth start to your magical visit, Jay! With your friend's ticket ready and the Disneyland app at your fingertips, you're both set to explore the Happiest Place on Earth and savor every moment of the special 70th Celebration. Have the most enchanting time creating unforgettable memories!
