For those of you that have tested the Magic Bands, how do they work for kids? We will be there in late 2014, at which time I assume they will be up & running? Usually I hold onto everyone's KTTW card (even hubby's!) and worry about losing a band! Thx!

    Hi Alyssa!

I love that you are planning ahead for your 2014 trip!

Currently, MagicBands are being tested by pre-selected Guests staying at Disney World Resorts but if all goes according to what Disney is saying, they will be available to Guests later this year so they should be available for your trip.

Once the testing phase is over and MagicBands are available to other Guests sometime later this year, MagicBands will serve the same purpose as your Key to the World Cards and park tickets. Among other features, you'll be able to check-in at FastPass+ locations and link PhotoPass images to your account. Think of all the things you carry with you now all rolled into one MagicBand.

Disney knows that a lot of their Guests are little Mouseketeers and designed MagicBands so they can be adjusted to fit small wrists. Guests won't be required to wear their MagicBands on their wrists so you can keep up with all of them. They can be snapped on the handle of a purse, belt or other item. The important thing is to remember to keep them in a safe place. They are very cool and depending on your kids' ages, they may really want to wear their own MagicBands. They seem to stay on quite well even in the water parks. Disney also realizes that just like Key to the World Cards and parks tickets, occasionally Guests may lose them. If that happens, you can visit Guest Relations and they can deactivate your MagicBand and provide you with a replacement band or card.

Here is a link to some Frequently Asked Questions about MagicBands that will give you some more information about them.

Please feel free to visit again with any other questions. We're hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
