How come test track is temporarily closed more than the rest?

    Hello, Domenic,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Test Track is an incredible addition to EPCOT's Future World. It's great to take a car through many different obstacles vehicles may face, including a surprise or two!  It then ends with a chance to experience the car going up to nearly 65 mph on an outside track, which is so exhilarating and a fun moment to put your hands in the air and let yourself go!  Since it is one of the few outdoor attractions at EPCOT, it may need to temporarily shut-down during inclement weather.  I know from my experience visiting Walt Disney World that those storms can pop up quickly, especially during the summer months. There are times, too, when lightning is detected nearby, even when it isn't raining, which may also temporarily shut down the attraction to keep both guests and cast members safe.

When that happens, there are plenty of other nearby attractions like Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Soarin' Around the World, Living with the Land, and Awesome Planet.  One of my favorite spots to get lost in during the rain is Sea Base, which gives you a chance to explore life under the sea. You could also take a break by sampling some of the yummy menu items at Sunshine Seasons or doing a bit of shopping at Mouse Gear. While you are enjoying these other attractions, you can check the My Disney Experience Mobile app to see when Test Track opens back up.

Wishing you a Disney Day!  Please let us know if you have any further questions. -Kara
