In terms of 12 yr.DS 8yr.DD and 8 yr.DS, better to stay at beach club, or for lower cost, stay at POR and add water parks? 2nd visit, 1st stay was POR. Thanks!

    Hi Jolene,

Isn't it just as exciting to go to Disney the second time?!  This is a great question.  My own opinion is that your kids are a GREAT age for the water parks, and this would be a fun option for them.  Our family has spent many wonderful, lazy days at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, - there is just so much to do there!

The Beach Club is awesome, with a great 'ship' pool and a laid-back 'beach' feeling.  But I also understand your desire to try out a new resort and save some money.  If you are four people in total, the Port Orleans French Quarter is fun.  This resort is smaller than Port Orleans Riverside.  It is charming and quaint, and has an amazing pool area (a giant sea serpent lets you slide down his tongue or walk across his back).  If you are five people in total, you might consider the All Star Music Resort's family suites, which sleep up to 6 people and have two bathrooms and a mini kitchen area.  Check out the links to see which might appeal to your clan. I know for our family, we would chose a moderate resort and add the water parks option.

Jolene, whatever you chose, have an amazing time with your family.

Walt Disney World stole my heart when my parents introduced me to the magic the year it opened. I fondly remember my first 'Mickey Mouse in a Glass House' balloon! I still visit with my parents-and now with my husband and our two teens. Learn More About Lynn
