Konnichiwa, Shayla! It's my distinct honor to welcome you to planDisney. I love dining around World Showcase, and
Teppan Edo is still on my list to try! I have been to a teppanyaki style restaurant before, and I love the theatrical cooking and festive experience this kind of establishment provides. After all, who doesn't love dinner and a show? My onion volcano is stacked and I'm ready to answer your question about the rice available at this restaurant.
I took a look at
the menu, and I do see that only steamed white rice or udon noodles are listed as side dishes for the entrees and combinations. You can always ask your server if fried rice is available, and they may be able to provide it for you though there are no guarantees.
If you are certain you want fried rice with your meal in World Showcase, you can head over to
Nine Dragons Restaurant and try the Smoked Duck Fried Rice, or pop by
Lotus Blossom Cafe for their Chicken Fried Rice Combo. Both of these locations can be found in the China pavilion, just a short walk from Japan.
Also, your visit will coincide with the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which started March 4th and is running through June 1st. You should consider reserving a
Garden Rocks Dining Package for your visit. You could grab a reservation at Teppan Edo that would also guarantee a seat at the Garden Rocks Concert Series performance! The first week of May features the following artists: A Flock of Seagulls, Plain White T's, and The M-80's. I hope you set aside time to take in all the special offerings at this festival like the gardens and topiaries, exclusive photo ops, and exciting exhibits.
That's all the advice I have on the rice, Shayla! I hope this answer will suffice and that your vacation is nice, even if your plans for fried rice get put on ice. For more vacation tips that are both concise and precise, don't think twice about visiting us here at planDisney!
Stay magical,
Scott
