We have tentatively narrowed hotels to Wilderness Lodge or Coronado Spring Resort. Which would better for kids 4 & 6? Are they close to parks in walking distance or right off mniral system?

    Genevieve,

From your two choices, I'd pick the Wilderness Lodge hands down.  It is a beautiful resort, and one of my very favorites.  No doubt you've seen pictures of the lobby, so I won't even touch on that.  Have you read about the restaurants?  Whispering Canyon Cafe is so much fun for families, and Artist Point is great for an upscale meal the whole family can enjoy.  They also have an excellent quick service meal location which we feel is one of the best in the resorts.  The pool area there is gorgeous, and we really enjoy the walking paths.  There is a geyser that erupts hourly, and you can watch fireworks or the electrical water pageant from the beach.

Widerness Lodge is connected via walking path to the Ft. Wilderness Campground.  You can also take a boat ride to the campground, the Contemporary resort, or the Magic Kingdom.  We find the transportation at this resort to be efficient and without long lines.

We love this resort, and as part of our Disney Vacation Club membership we stay there frequently.  We were there last September/October, and will be there again this August.  Both of my sisters and their families are staying there this year as well.  It really is a great resort and I don't think you'd find anything to regret if you choose to stay there.
