Hi Lester! Welcome to planDisney!
I’m so happy to hear you’re planning a stay at
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. My family loves to visit Fort Wilderness to see the animals, get a bite of our favorite strawberry shortcake from
P & J’s Southern Takeout, and feel immersed in nature. It’s such a serene spot to head home to after a day of theme park fun.
I’m more of a “glamping” kind of gal myself, so your question gave me a smile. Like you, I would totally prefer to dry my hair close to my site rather than in the Comfort Stations, and I’m happy to confirm that you should have no trouble plugging your hair dryer into the electrical outlets at your site. According to my records, there are 20, 30, and 50 amp outlets, so you may just want to check your hair dryer to ensure it’s compatible with one of those; the outlets I’ve seen usually accommodate both two-prong and three-prong plugs.
One of the things I love most about Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is seeing the ways Guests decorate their sites, especially during the holidays. We visited one Easter and were delighted to see a site decorated with a whole parade of life-sized Stormtroopers, led by Darth Vader – all in bunny ears! Even if you’re not interested in decorating your site, I encourage you to explore the resort to see your fellow Guests’ creativity on display. It’s a unique aspect of staying at “The Fort.”
Because you mentioned self care, I have to tell you about
Basin, which is located in
Disney Springs. I was
just talking to my daughter about our plan to bring an extra suitcase to fill with their bath bombs and soaps – they are seriously amazing. The soaps come in a variety of Disney designs and scents, making them great souvenirs or gifts for your friends and family.
Enjoy your camping experience at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Lester! If you have any more questions as you count down the days, plan, and dream, please come back and see us.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
