Are there tennis courts on property and if so what does a guest need to do to play on the courts?

    Hi there, Michael!

You’re as welcome as can be here at planDisney, thanks for bringing another great question our way! There’s so much to experience and do outside of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort; I’m happy to share where you can have a fun game of tennis around property.

No matter your skill level, any Guest of a Disney resort are welcome to enjoy the many tennis courts available at several Disney Resort Collection hotels. They are all on a first-come, first-served basis and appropriate attire and shoes are required when on the courts. Hours may vary by season or special event, but I understand they are generally available from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. daily. Those later hours may come in handy for managing the brutal Florida heat this summer, but the courts are all lit for enjoyable safe play after the sun goes down. If you didn’t pack your own equipment for vacation, hakuna matata! It’s available to rent on site with your resort access (such as MagicBand or Resort ID card). Disney Vacation Club Members may check out complimentary access to the equipment rentals; other Guests will incur a small fee for equipment.

Here is the comprehensive list of where to find tennis courts, Michael. I’ve encountered some of these on our many walks around resort property, but I was surprised to see so many available for you! I hope there is one convenient to your next stay.

Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort — One court next to Bay Lake Tower; check out equipment at Community Hall or Boat Nook Marina

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village — Two hard courts located near the shuffleboard and basketball courts; check out equipment at Community Hall

Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas — Two courts adjacent to Community Hall; check out equipment at Community Hall

The Campsites and Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – Two hard courts located at the Meadow Recreation Area; check out equipment at the Bike Barn

Disney's Old Key West Resort — Two courts near the main pool and one on Old Turtle Pond Road; check out equipment at Conch Flats Community Hall or Hank’s Rent ‘N Return

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa — Two clay courts located in the sports courts area; check out equipment at Community Hall or Horsing Around Rentals

Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts — One court located near Admiral Pool; check out equipment at Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness

I confess my own ol’ athlete’s knee isn’t up for tennis these days but I admire your motivation and energy to get into a fun game on an already active vacation! These type of activities outside the theme parks are what make a Walt Disney World vacation so special and personalized – I hope you’re able to fit in some fun on your next visit.

Thank you for trusting us to help enhance your vacations through our heartfelt advice! Hope to see you again real soon.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
