Hi there, Marc!
Welcome to planDisney! As much as I love disengaging from the rest of the world while sailing on a Disney Cruise, I know that sometimes work and personal obligations prevent that from happening. I ended up purchasing a 24-hour internet package while sailing on the Disney Wish last fall because I had some exciting news to share about joining planDisney, and I could not wait any longer to tell my friends and family!
Guests do not need to purchase a
Wi-Fi package to access most services on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, such as the
Onboard Communication feature that allows you to communicate with other members of your party aboard your cruise. I also like reviewing the activities schedule on the Navigator app each morning to see what fun things my family might participate in. Additionally, we check out the daily dining menus to pre-plan what we will order. Food is a big deal in my family!
A few
internet packages are currently available. They can be purchased on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard the ship. Package offerings and prices are subject to change at any time. The options include:
- "Stay Connected" allows Guests to access select social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram. Pricing starts at $16/day when you purchase it for the full voyage and $18/day when you purchase it for only 24 hours. Prices are subject to change at any time.
- "Basic Surf" includes the "Stay Connected" package offerings plus access to the web, email, and voice calling. It begins at $24/day for the full voyage or $28/day when purchased for only 24 hours. Prices are subject to change at any time.
- "Premium Surf" includes the "Basic Surf" package offerings plus video on YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok, as well as video calling and music streaming (such as Pandora and Spotify). Video streaming is not available. Pricing begins at $34/day for the full voyage or $42/day for only 24 hours. Prices are subject to change at any time.
I also suggest checking with your cell phone company to see if they require any additional coverage to use the internet or your cell phone aboard the ship. Let's say this was a lesson learned during one of my Disney Cruises last year. Oops!
Marc, enjoy your trip aboard the Disney Wonder! It was my first Disney Cruise, and it holds a special place in my heart!
Happy sailing!
Jen
