Could you tell me whatever you know about staying at camp wilderness? We will be staying there for the first time in our RV the first week of December.

I stayed at Fort Wilderness about 3 1/2 years ago.  We went down with a large group of friends.  My family stayed in the cabins, but a good friend of mine stayed in his RV.

There is so much to do in Fort Wilderness it could be a vacation destination itself.  We used the recreational boats a lot during our trip.  The kids really enjoyed the faster small boats.  I really liked pontoon boats where 7 of us could comfortably hang out.  There is also a fun Campfire Sing-a-long with Chip'n Dale where they show a nightly Disney Movie on a large outdoor screen.

During our trip we ate at Mickey's Backyard BBQ.  Here Mickey and Pals put on a cute show all set to country music.  There are few times during the show that the characters come onto the dance floor and dance with the kids.  We were there with a 7 year girl who really loved it.  They serve typical BBQ fare and include beer and wine.  I'll warn you the alcohol is not the best quality, but it adds to the family BBQ feel.  You also sit on long wooden tables with other families, so it might not be good for a shy family.

Since the resort is so big, we decided to rent an electric cart.  It definitely came in handy.  The demand for the carts was higher then we imagined.  We were only able to get one because someone had canceled at the last minute.  If I was staying there again I would reserved one further in advance.

I hope you enjoy the campground.  Most folks in December start putting up Christmas lights in December.  I would imagine it would be fun to just walk around the loops and check out the Christmas decorations.
