Can you tell me what the weather is usually like in early Jan? We are planning on going around the 5th, also what the crowds are like at that time. We don't want to travel during the heat, but don't want to be freezing either with two children.

    Hi Konda,

You are looking at a great time to visit Walt Disney World in terms of crowds. The weeks between about January 5 and the Martin Luther King weekend are among the least crowded time of the entire year. The weather is typically mild, with highs around 70 and lows in the upper 40s.

Temperatures can be a bit hard to predict at that time of year. It isn't unheard of to have a day or two of really cold nights (for us, at least. Those of us who live in Florida reach for our sweaters as soon as the thermometer inches into the 60s.) Rarely does the temperature drop near freezing at night, and if it does, it usually doesn't last long. The good news is that even if it is colder, the skies are normally sunny and blue.

I would expect that you would be comfortable in jeans and long-sleeved shirts during the day and with a hoodie after the sun goes down. But if you live up North, you might want to bring along your gloves and/or scarves, just in case.

Please let me know if I can offer any other help as you plan your vacation. Enjoy!
