Tell me about the weather and clothes to pack for the 1/21, we have two preschoolers and live in the caribbean. I will apprecciate your help.

    Hi Michelle!

I'm officially jealous that you live in the Caribbean, as I look out my window at an ice storm here in the Northeast!  January can be chilly in Central Florida, and the evenings can be downright cold.  Average highs are in the low 70s, and average lows are in the high 40s.  When I traveled with my kids during January, I packed sweat/track suits with removable hooded jackets.  By the early afternoon, my kids usually ended up in short sleeves with their track pants.  The pools at the resorts we've stayed out are heated, so we've definitely been swimming in January too!  Whatever outfits you pack, I think "layers" are the key to being comfortable.  We found that within the same hour, we put the jackets on and off several times, depending upon whether we were in the direct sun or shade.  I would recommend sticking a hat and pair of mittens in your luggage just in case.  More than likely, you won't need them, but they take up very little room.

I have also noticed that local Floridians tend to dress in warmer clothing than "out-of-towners".  I'm not sure if this is because the "locals" are more sensitive to cooler temperatures after living in a warm climate, or because other guests are determined to wear their shorts and tees on vacation regardless of the temperatures!  I wonder if, because of where you live, your family might be sensitive to cooler temperatures?

Regardless of the temperature, you are traveling at a great time of year, when the crowds should be light and you should be able to see and do a ton!  Have a wonderful time!
